Economy 7 Immersion Heater Element

Immersion heaters are electric heating elements that are found in water cylinders to heat water.

Designed for use with economy 7 off peak rate overnight electricity plans. If an element in an immersion starts to heat theres no noise. The off peak element was placed on just over 50. I have an economy 7 water tank fitted with two immersion heaters one at the bottom of the tank and one about halfway up.

The lower heater is wired to a circuit which is only live during cheap rate and the upper is wired on a normal circuit which is live all the time. I replaced them with new elements. I have checked the fuse seems ok. They act like a kettle to heat the surrounding water in the cylinder.
