Duck down pillows smell.

Does anyone have any idea how to stop the smell. Because ducks are smaller their down is smaller and more coarse than that of a goose. However eider duck down is larger and considered to be of good quality. I am not sure if you can wash pillows so easily as so thick.

Down pillows may have a slight bird smell when purchased but strong odour is often the result of improper cleaning methods.
