Dry Clean Sisal Rug

Host dry extraction cleaning is the recommended system for cleaning sisal rugs sisal carpet and most other natural fiber rugs.

A fabric protectant may be applied to both types of sisal rugs during the manufacturing process or by the consumer. Plant fibers are highly absorbent so when exposed to liquids or excessive dampness they are subject to some shrinking and puckering.

Never steam clean wet shampoo or any other method that involves water saturation on a natural fiber rug. Using liquids on a jute rug can cause discoloration and should be only limited to spot cleaning. But regular wear and tear and cleaning can decrease its effectiveness. Shake host dry carpet cleaner onto the spill until covered.

Do not steam clean or wet shampoo your sisal rug. Vacuum up the dry shampoo and flip the rug over to repeat on the other side. Begin by sprinkling baking soda or cornflour on top of the rug. If a sisal rug gets wet even if it is just with water it is important to dry the rug as quickly as possible.

It is important to control the amount of moisture during cleaning. Use a low heat setting on a hair dryer or a large fan to help you get the rug to dry faster. Leave the powder to sit on the rug for about one hour in order to absorb all the dirt. Host dry cleaner kit method you can also use the host dry cleaner to spot clean.

It is recommended that a dry cleaning process be used. Instead use a dry rug shampoo or baking soda. The use of a dry carpet cleaning compound and vacuum is the only recommended option for the successful clean of sisal limiting any risk of damage. Remember that sisal is a very absorbent fiber.

Sprinkle the dry shampoo on the rug and allow it to sit for a couple of hours. Dry the carpet as soon as you can to avoid warping or additional water marking.
