Need a door and lights need to be two block high at max if you want it to look like you have it hide a torch etc behind something at ground level it should register then.

Are the walls all at least 2 blocks high the same height as the door. I have mine inside just as long as there s a door to complete the room in the 2nd floor and you re set.
